Missa Papae Marcelli by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina is one of the most famous works in the history of church music. Musicians of the King’s Road performs this unique renaissance mass in the Turku Cathedral, and the concert is opened with the Litaniae Sanctorum. This litany is always sung when the cardinals enter the Sistine Chapel in the beginning of a conclave, i.e. when they are about to elect a new pope.
